Apiary Setup

Apiary setup is for new or growing beekeepers who want a practical hive site that is easier to manage through the season. We help you think through the location before hives are placed, including shade, drainage, access, wind direction, water availability, safety around people and livestock, and how vehicles or equipment will reach the site during inspections and harvest. A good setup reduces stress later because the hives, paths, stands, and working area are arranged with real field use in mind.

The setup visit can include fixing hive placement, arranging hive stands, advising on spacing, checking the surrounding forage and disturbance risks, and preparing the site for steady management. We also explain the basic routines that keep the apiary workable, such as keeping entrances clear, maintaining a clean working area, recording hive positions, and planning enough room for future growth. The service is suited to farms, homes, training sites, community projects, and small commercial apiaries.

The minimum fee is 150 dollars and covers setup support for up to 6 hives. Any additional hive beyond the first 6 is charged at 25 dollars per hive. Before the visit, it helps to share the number of hives, the proposed location, photos of the site, and any concerns about neighbours, animals, security, or seasonal access.
